Florida International University’s Paralegal Certificate Program provides you the knowledge, convenience and flexibility to become a paralegal and pursue a career or job advancement in the paralegal field. Offered completely online, our FIU quality curriculum will empower you to execute paralegal duties and develop the expertise to put them into practice, including:

  • How to conduct legal research and prepare documentation for trials
  • Litigation procedures and basic appellate processes
  • Laws pertaining to family, estates and trusts, real estate, constitutional law and more
  • The ability to analyze and draft contracts

What Students Need to Know Before Registering

  • The program consists of three semesters.
  • Each semester consists of four individual courses.
  • Each individual course is approximately one month in duration and must be completed before beginning the next course in the semester.
  • Students must register and successfully complete the Semester I prior to registering for the next semester.
  • Students must register by the beginning of every semester in order to receive access to the following semester.
  • Each semester primarily focuses on federal procedures and forms enabling students to apply the information on a national level.
  • Students will be expected to have moderate proficiency on a PC, be skilled in running an Internet Browser, and be able to use Microsoft Office.
  • Students can begin the program at the start of any semester.
